Bord Gáis Selects Utilisoft’s SEM Message Hub
We are also delighted to announce that all of Utilisoft’s SEM customers have successfully completed the latest phase of testing prior to market go-live (Type 3 Communications Channel Qualification Testing).The All Island Single Electricity Market (SEM) is the wholesale electricity market being implemented across the entire island of Ireland, from November 2007. This new market will replace the current arrangement where electricity is bought directly by supply companies from power generators based on a series of contracts. In the SEM, competing generators will offer their output through a pool market where all electricity for the whole island will be bought and sold. All electricity companies in Northern Ireland and in the Republic of Ireland will be required to buy and sell energy through this market.
